Well folks, I have finally experienced it. Unintended accelleration. My '91 200 tq decided to go 60 Minutes on me. I was driving in a parking lot and the throttle stayed open. I simply turned of the inition switch, pushed in the clutch, applied the ufo brakes and rolled to a stop. No big deal. Got out a zip tie and rigged the cable end back in place. I will need a more permanent solution, but I guess the cable tie is as permanent as the factory supplied little plastic doohickey that broke. I don't see that doohickey listed as an orderable part in the family album anyway.

This all folows the throttle cable breaking last week on my urq. What are the chances? In that case part #431 721 559 which is a super soft foam rubber bushing simply crumbled to dust. The throttle cable in the urq (and 4kq's) has a spike on the end that sticks through this bushing on the top of the throttle pedal assembly, but can pull out when the bushing get's tired. (Sorry I don't have pics) I wonder what the rally cars used? Certainly something more durable than that. Wolff
